About Me

It all started in the Midwest...

At St. Luke's Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa; where I was born in 1992 to two parents of opposite sex. From there my siblings and I were raised by my single mother; and we moved around a couple times here and there, but I spent my entire youth through high school in the region they all call Siouxland. And I graduated from Sergeant Bluff-Luton High School in 2010.

After that I moved forty-five minutes up the road to a town called Vermillion, and started attending the Beacom School of Business at the University of South Dakota. It was here that I joined the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity and first started taking my writing hobby seriously. I graduated four and a half years later in December 2014, with a B.B.A. in Accounting.

When I first turned twenty-one, I had the opportunity to go to Alaska for the summer and wait tables for the tourist industry... and of course I jumped on it, spending the Summer of 2013 just outside a place named Talkeetna. A lovely, little hippie town where hopeful mountaineers set off to climb Denali.

After that I was hooked and returned to Alaska the following summer; but this time just outside Denali National Park, where I would return once more after graduating college. After that fateful December in 2014, I briefly moved home to Iowa where I sold all my belongings on Craig's List and saved up a couple thousand dollars while working at Outback Steakhouse.

I landed in Anchorage in May 2015, with only a duffel bag, a suitcase, and the cash in my pocket. After a little "incident," we'll call it, where I ended up stranded on the bad side of town waiting for a taxi that didn't want to come, I eventually bought a car from someone who actually had the title in hand. And I got the hell out of there as soon as I could. Ever since, I've called Alaska my home...
